Early in life, I found that I could whip up words that tell stories, reel readers in and spark connections. Not only did I discover I had potential in this area but also I really enjoyed doing it.
Soon my writing and love of language was channelled into writing poetry. With poetry, a thought, idea or feeling is condensed into concise language that packs a punch, impacting a reader immediately. It’s a skill I rely on across all types of content, but it’s especially useful when creating evocative travel stories and compelling copy.
Experience in editorial and agency settings
Prior to stepping out as a freelancer, I cut my teeth in journalism at the busy editorial department of three B2B fashion magazines. Afterwards I gained three years’ experience in an agency setting, working with my clients Hewlett-Packard (HP), among others. On deciding to set up as a freelancer, HP retained my copywriting services and we continued to work together on a freelance basis. While I’m happy to take on one-off projects, where possible I like to build long-standing relationships.
A bit more about me
If you follow me on social media, you’ll have noticed that I am something of a dog lover, and I’m often out on adventures with my Labrador, Elba. Together, we love exploring the world around us (got to love that Labrador energy). I find that time outside helps offset the many hours I spend drinking tea and writing.
