Early in life, I found that I could whip up words that tell stories, reel readers in and spark connections. Not only did I discover I had potential in this area but also I really enjoyed doing it.
Soon my writing and love of language was channelled into writing poetry. With poetry, a thought, idea or feeling is condensed into concise language that packs a punch, impacting a reader immediately. This is also the goal of really good copywriting.
I honed in on my passion to wow audiences with my words, and started to help brands use them to their advantage.
Experience in editorial and agency settings
Prior to stepping out as a freelancer, I cut my teeth in journalism at the busy editorial department of three B2B fashion magazines. Afterwards I gained three years’ experience in an agency setting, working with my clients Hewlett-Packard (HP), among others. On deciding to set up as a freelancer, HP retained my copywriting services and we continued to work together on a freelance basis. While I’m happy to take on one-off projects, where possible I like to build long-standing relationships.
A bit more about me
If you follow me on the ‘gram (or probably any other channel, to be honest) you’ll have noticed that I am something of a dog lover and I’m often out on adventures with my Labrador, Elba. Together, we love exploring the world around us (got to love that Labrador energy!). I find that time outside helps offset the many hours I spend drinking tea and writing.
